PHASE 4: EXECUTE
From my last post (PLAN), you now have your battle plan, and its time for the rubber to meet the road.
In the EXECUTE phase, you are going to streamline and rejuvenate your product stack.

- Clearly define success criteria
- Use a Kanban approach for WIP
- Keep a watchful eye on the principle of diminishing returns
FOG OF WAR
- Up to this point, everything has been conceptual. It’s inevitable that things will go wrong as you move through this.
- Be flexible, and adapt your battle plan to the changing scenarios as they present themselves.
- In the fog of war, information streams are paramount, so ensure you have feedback loops and are monitoring those closely.
PERFECT IS THE ENEMY OF DONE
- You *must* get out of your head at this point, and start executing. The analysis is done. Pick up a shovel!
- Keep the principle of diminishing returns at the forefront of your mind at all times. Getting a working model is paramount.
- Don’t get stuck in the weeds. Always keep the criticality/popularity metric for a service as the north star for how much effort to sink into it.
